Decrease in AIDS-Related Mortality in a State Correctional System -- New York, 1995-1998
Publication year:
1999
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: The authors summarize an analysis of death records of inmates which indicate a substantial reduction in AIDS-related deaths during the period of 1995 through 1998 and describe the programs which may have contributed to the decrease. They find that death rates from other causes were stable during the same period and that the decline in AIDS related deaths is similar to that reported for the entire United States and probably corresponds to advancement in treatment and enhanced patient education programs.
