ANNOTATION: This GAO report reviews efforts to correct design and construction deficiencies at the Bureau of Prisons' Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center. Specific consideration was given to: the vulnerability of the facility design to escape, materials used in housing areas, protection from tampering for electrical wiring, and the appropriateness of the current medical facility.
