ANNOTATION: A summary report details the results of a survey of applicants who accepted or declined federal job offers for entry-level professional and administrative positions. Survey data include characteristics of the applicant pool and reasons for declining or accepting job offers. A majority of decliners cited low salaries while a majority of acceptors cited career opportunities and relevance to their education and skills as reasons for their decision.
