ANNOTATION: This report provides the results of an assessment of the Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC) program. TASC is an offender case management program designed to link drug-using offenders with the criminal justice system to community-based drug abuse treatment as an alternative or supplement to criminal penalties. The investigating committee found that preliminary data supports the program's effectiveness and it encourages federal entities to provide support to the program.
