Publication year:
1998
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Addressing the need to assess the current status of offender based information systems in corrections, this inventory project provides a basis for improving the quality of corrections data and electronic sharing of information for cross-jurisdictional research. Using various data elements, it identifies the capacity of corrections departments to provide comparable data for performance measures such as the profiling and describing offenders, committing offenders to correctional authority, managing offenders in correctional facilities, and supervising offenders on release and maintaining public safety. It provides facilities management information, reporting capabilities and identifies common core data that most or all departments collect. Appendix C lists respondents who may be used to obtain further information or assistance.
