Viewing Crime and Justice From a Collaborative Perspective: Plenary Papers of the 1998 Conference on Criminal Justice Research and Evaluation

ANNOTATION: A new form of criminal justice research has arisen in which practitioners work on an equal footing with researchers in a collaborative manner. This approach has been called collaborative research, research partnerships, action research, participatory research, and cooperative inquiry by disciplines outside criminology. This report contains sections on: research for problem solving and the new collaborations; the changing role of the researcher in working with communities; replicating complex community partnerships; and forced bonding or community collaboration - partnerships between science and practice in research on woman battering.
