Return on Investment for Correctional Education in Florida

ANNOTATION: There is a positive return on investment realized by Florida taxpayers for money invested in state correctional education. The Costs Consequences Analysis (CCA) model adapted by the Florida Department of Corrections utilizes a coarse-grain analysis of return on investment. CCA indicated that during the first year of analysis $1.66 was returned for every $1.00 invested. Second year results show correctional education returns of $3.20 for every dollar invested.
