Regaining the Vote: An Assessment of Activity Relating to Felon Disenfranchisement Laws
Publication year:
2000
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Disenfranchisement laws affect a growing population. An estimated 1 in 50 adults has currently or permanently lost their ability to vote. This document provides an update to a previous report (accession number 014921) on the "legal, legislative, and community initiatives undertaken to restore or preserve felons' and ex-felons' voting rights, as well as those initiatives that seek to limit or ban voting rights. It also examines the often confusing and cumbersome restoration procedures in a number of states (p.2)."
