Publication year:
2000
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: This summary describes the principle findings of research done regarding privatization in corrections. Some of the findings are: privatization has become an acceptable option due to the explosive growth of the prisoner population; a large body of research shows that privatization can achieve significant cost savings without reducing service quality; and competition between private and public correctional facilities will result in more cost-efficient public agencies.
