Sex Offender Community Notification: Assessing the Impact in Wisconsin
Publication year:
1998
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Information from the following was incorporated into this case study: community notification meetings survey; police and sheriff agencies survey; probation/parole agents and supervisors with sex offender caseloads survey; and interviews with convicted sex offenders residing in Wisconsin. In general, it appears that community notification is being used appropriately. Yet, notification brings with it increased law enforcement and correctional operating costs for personnel, time, and additional resources. Notification also negatively impacts successful offender integration into the community.
