Use of the Residency Condition with Statutory Release: A Descriptive Analysis
Publication year:
2000
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Amendments to Canada's Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA) permit the addition of a residency condition to offender's statutory release (SR) if the individual is at risk to commit a violent offense. This report addresses whether the amended CCRA has affected the use of the residency condition. While there has been an increase in the use of a residency condition, there is little evidence to show a clear, positive impact on release outcomes.
