ANNOTATION: Knowledge and skill maps are utilized to link core tasks to curriculum and training design. Information about core tasks aids in the development of lesson plans and test questions. Each map describes relevant core tasks, value, prerequisites, rules and concepts, steps, and aids/resources. Seventy-one maps are organized into the following general topical headings: booking, receiving, and releasing; escorting and transporting; record keeping and report writing; supervising non-inmate movement and visitors; searching and securing; supervising inmates; hygiene, commissary, and mail; medical and psychological services; verbal communication; fire, life safety, and evacuation; and physically demanding tasks.
