ANNOTATION: The RELIEF (Reintegration Effort for Long-Term Infirm and Elderly Federal Offenders) program at Sumas Community Correctional Centre is highlighted. Care-giver's aides are offenders who have received training in assisted living skills, peer counseling, and chronic and infectious diseases. Based upon program success, a proposal to expand the RELIEF program has been made.
