ANNOTATION: The path that this division will take to adopt the proactive community supervision (PCS) model is described. In addition to an executive summary and an introduction, this report looks at: parole and probation supervision -- now; the PCS Model -- not "business as usual"; changing the way the division works; information technology -- the key to success; tools to make supervision more effective; ensuring public safety; performance measures and expected outcomes; and a timetable for transforming parole and probation. Appendixes include: a staffing plan; new roles for agents and supervisors; a blueprint for the future; required elements for PCS implementation; and a risk assessment tool.
