ANNOTATION: "Uniform cost per day" operational cost figures for juvenile and adult correctional programs for 1999 and 2000 in Texas are presented. This report is comprised of four sections: introduction to cost calculation and reporting guidelines; average cost per day; program descriptions; and historical overview tables. The most expensive criminal justice program was incarceration -- $129.36 per day for juveniles and $40.65 per day for adults. Community supervision was the least costly intervention at $8.65 per day for juveniles and $2.05 per day for adults.
