ANNOTATION: Findings from research into the recidivism of State Jail Felons released in fiscal years 1997 and 1998 are presented. The recidivism rate for State Jail Felons is 19.4% compared to the rate for prisoners of 22.2%. For every 100 offenders placed in State Jails there is a cost savings of $413,000.
