Age and Sexual Recidivism: A Comparison of Rapists and Child Molesters
Publication year:
2001
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: The relationship between age of adult male sexual offenders and sexual recidivism is examined. The following sections are contained in this study: abstract; introduction; method -- samples and analysis; results; and discussion -- deviant sexual interests, low self-esteem, opportunity, and an interpretation of the age-recidivism findings. Rapists' recidivism risk decreased with age, while extrafamilial child molesters exhibited little recidivism risk reduction until after the age of 50.
