ANNOTATION: Issues surrounding post-conviction polygraph examinations are discussed. Part I of this document looks at the use of polygraphs in a sex offender containment approach. Sections include: introduction; background; methods; findings from the case file review; and conclusions and recommendations. Results from a telephone survey of probation and parole supervisors in 49 states and the District of Columbia regarding polygraph use in adult sex offender management comprise Part II of this document.
