ANNOTATION: Findings regarding the identification and prevention of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit payments to fugitive felons by the Social Security Administration (SSA) are presented. This report contains the following sections: executive summary; introduction; results of review; and recommendations. Since August 1996, the SSA has incorrectly paid fugitives approximately $76 million in SSI payments.
