ANNOTATION: A summary of studies regarding Pennsylvania having the "greatest racial disparity in the state's varied uses of incarceration" is provided. Some of the statistics include: in the last 25 years 70% of new inmates are non-white; 97% of 20-55 year old African-American males in Union County are serving time in federal prisons; and 94% of 20-55 year old Hispanic males from Union County are also incarcerated.
