ANNOTATION: The benefits to recidivism prediction that result from the combined use of actuarial risk assessments and clinical judgments are investigated. Contents of this report include: executive summary; introduction; method -- participants, measures, and procedure; results -- recidivism by type of outcome, recidivism by type of release, clinical risk assessment, actuarial assessment, intercorrelations, and predicting recidivism; and discussion. There was a recidivism rate of 55.1% for these violent offenders.
