Federal Imprisonment Trends for Women 1994-95 to 1998-99

Publication year: 2000 | Cataloged on: Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Leading indicators for potential changes in the incarceration rates for adult women in Canada are examined. This report includes the following sections: executive summary; crime and sentencing trends; other factors affecting federal women trends; and conclusions. One observation that is made is that since longer sentences are increasing; judges seem to be embracing a "tougher" approach to sentencing adult women.
