Changing Minds: The Impact of College in a Maximum-Security Prison: Effects on Women in Prison, the Prison Environment, Reincarceration Rates and Post-Release Outcomes
Publication year:
2001
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Findings from a "broad based multi-method research design. . .to document the impact of college within prison on women, the prison environment and women post-release" are reported (p. 4). Sections of this publication include: introduction; executive summary of the research findings; college education in prison; research design and methods; results; and conclusions -- policy issues and questions of replicating a national model. One significant observation this report makes is that college-in-prison reduces recidivism while saving taxpayers' money.
