ANNOTATION: Problems facing ex-offenders in their acquisition of permanent, sustainable housing are addressed along with solutions to this challenge. Following the observation that "[h]ousing is the lynchpin that holds the reintegration process together" (p. 1), this briefing provides a discussion about the following topics: barriers to reentry; the corrections problem; the housing crunch; a snapshot survey of three pre-release facilities; and transitional housing recommendations.
