Drug Courts: Better DOJ Data Collection and Evaluation Efforts Needed to Measure Impact of Drug Court Programs
Publication year:
2002
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Recommendations for executive action based upon an analysis of the U.S. Department of Justice's efforts to collect data about drug courts is presented. Two conclusions are made: the DOJ has not sufficiently managed the collection and utilization of performance and outcome data collected from federally funded drug court programs; and the DOJ's effort to complete a national impact evaluation of DCPO-funded drug court programs has fallen short of its objective. Agency comments on this report are also included.
