Publication year:
2002
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Results from an examination of halfway houses and community-based correctional facilities (CBCF) are reported. This study is comprised of five sections: introduction; methodology; program descriptions; results -- CBCF results, halfway houses, halfway houses by geographic setting and by referral type; and summary and recommendations. Appendixes include: samples of surveys and questionnaires; risk factors and weights; and program descriptions and site specific bivariate analyses. Findings reveal that "null or contrary effects are seen with lower risk offenders while treatment effects are observed with higher risk offenders in most of the programs" (p. 86).
