Rethinking Juvenile Detention in New York City

ANNOTATION: Due to the "unnecessarily punitive and wasteful" juvenile detention policies and practices of this agency, "[p]romising models from other jurisdictions [that] provide concrete strategies on how the city can reorient its juvenile justice policies and reduce the overuse of secure detention" are presented (p. i).
