ANNOTATION: Results from a study of self-harm (i.e., suicide attempts, self-injury, and self-mutilation) by women under federal custody are provided. Following an executive summary, this report contains sections regarding: causes of self harm, driving concerns, risk factors, and the process of suicidal behavior; methodology; and results according to suicide risk at intake, criminal history, static and dynamic risk, mental health and adjustment at intake, and current institutional adjustment.
