ANNOTATION: A program that links ex-offenders with private sector employment is described. This report discusses: the significant social challenge growth in parolees poses; job placement assistance as effective social policy; fighting recidivism with work; an overview of America Works Criminal Justice Program clients; and initial results such as placing 77.7% of those individuals referred that completed a one-day orientation. After six months, 41.5% of ex-offenders placed were still employed.
