ANNOTATION: Results from a study that seeks to quantify the impact of drug offender incarceration are presented. New Jersey was focused on due to its "having the highest known proportion of its prison population comprised of drug offenders" in the U.S. (p. 5). Seventeen significant findings are provided with concluding recommendations. Less drug use was not experienced with the use of higher rates of drug offender imprisonment.
