Designed to aid in the procurement of active hand-held metal detectors "used to find metal weapons and/or metal contraband carried on a person and/or concealed by a nonmetal object," this standard establishes performance requirements and test methods (p. 1). The following sections comprise this document: introduction to the purpose of the standard and definitions; requirements for acceptance; performance testing procedures; field testing procedures; test objects description; and compliance test report form.
