ANNOTATION: Selected aspects of workers' compensation leave administration are examined. Following an executive summary, this report covers: background, audit scope, objectives and methodology, and response of DOCS officials to audit; work days lost through workers' compensation leave (88% averaged 5.3 months); and actions to reduce lost work days -- modify negotiated benefit, increase effectiveness of medical examinations, require light duty, deny claims, investigate fraud, and prevent injuries.
