ANNOTATION: Results from a cost-benefit analysis of a pre-plea drug court are supplied. Sections of this report are: highlights of findings; executive summary; introduction; and costs and benefits of the drug court. While the excess costs of the drug court were an average of $1,449 per person over probation, cost savings were found in reduced jail time and pretrial detention among other things. Over a four year period, for every dollar spent, taxpayers saved $6.32 or $7,707 per drug court graduate.
