ANNOTATION: Results from a study to determine whether this program results in decreased recidivism and costs are reported. Following an executive summary are five sections: the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration (JRA) and its basic training camp program; review of evaluation literature; outcome evaluation; estimated costs and benefits; and conclusions. A 6.4% reduction in recidivism (44.5% for violent felonies) results in a total avoided cost of $22,660 per youth.
