ANNOTATION: Results from the first national survey on juvenile suicides in confinement (110 between 1995 and 1999) are presented. An executive summary and the following five chapters comprise this report: introduction — literature review; the two phases of this survey; demographic findings of the juvenile suicide data — personal characteristics of the victim, suicide incident characteristics, and juvenile facility characteristics; special considerations; and conclusion and final thoughts.
