Publication year:
2004
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: The impact of five cognitive skills programs on reconviction rates of offenders on Probation Orders is examined. This report contains an executive summary and four sections (introduction, methodology, findings, and discussion). The five programs in this study are Think First, Reasoning and Rehabilitation (R&R), Enhanced Thinking Skills (ETS), Priestley One-to-One, and Addressing Substance-Related Offending (ASRO). "The findings from the 'Treatment Received' design show that those offenders on probation who complete a programme show significantly lower recidivism rates than both those who fail to complete and the untreated comparison group" (p. 13).
