ANNOTATION: A report that estimates the cost of housing arrestees charged with felonies is provided. The felony categories for which total estimated annual cost is determined are: probation and parole violators sentenced to detention facilities -- $4.3 million; sentenced to detention facilities -- $6.6 million; sentenced to prison and awaiting transport to a state facility -- $2.4 million; and unsentenced probation and parole violators -- $12.1 million.
