ANNOTATION: Issues surrounding kinship care and incarcerated parents who are substance abusers are investigated. Sections contained in this article are: abstract; addictions and incarceration; incarcerated parents; family involvement; methodology; results according to demographics, substance abuse patterns, family involvement, and participant's perceptions; and discussion on kinship care, substance abuse, family involvement, study limitations, further research, and implications for practice. "Results of this study indicate that there is a need for a multidisciplinary, wraparound approach to designing services for affected parents, children, and caregivers" (p. 187).
