ANNOTATION: Results from a performance audit of the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) are presented. Following an executive summary are these chapters: introduction; overcrowding; female inmate facility; DOCR medical service delivery; daily rates and departmental improvements; management and administrative structure; and treatment programs. Appendixes provide: a list of recommendations; glossary; SRT (Security Response Technologies, Inc.) Report; projected and actual population comparison; North Dakota Century Code changes; and supplemental responses and concluding remarks. While facilities are not overcrowded and medical service delivery, administrative structure and treatment programs are effective, the female inmate facility and various departmental areas can be improved.
