ANNOTATION: "Although it is too early to assess the full impact of SB50, and indeed the ramifications of this bill will unfold over several years, this report provides a preliminary examination of trends that are likely to emerge, and provides an opportunity to examine challenges posed by this significant legislation" (p. vii). Following an executive summary and introduction are sections regarding: factors that lead to the Probation Reform Law; elements of SB50; implementation of SB50; findings; and conclusions and recommendations. It is believed that court proceedings and technical violation bed space will be reduced. A copy of the legislative language is also included.
