ANNOTATION: A guide to resources on faith-based organizations (FBO) in criminal justice is provided. Sections contained in this Resource Guide include: executive summary; literature review -- theoretical and empirical research, programming, program models and evaluation, and towards a conceptual model of faith based; environmental scan -- historical context and the role of faith in criminal justice, criminal justice trends and contemporary challenges, prior research on the faith factor, scan methodology, fifty promising programs, and conclusion; research brief -- theoretical foundation, criminal justice trends, contemporary challenges, selected research, recommendations for future research, and conclusion; case studies -- methodology, innovative interventions (e.g., the Aleph Institute, the Amachi program, the Kairos Horizon program, and the Masjid Al-Islam Sawah program, and conclusion; and concluding remarks.
