A Project of Hope: Literacy Development for Juvenile Offenders

ANNOTATION: An overview of the substantial impact this literacy program has on the lives of juvenile offenders in San Diego is presented. The Process of Hope Program provides on average 88.7 hours of instruction, with those youth who complete the program being less likely to have a referral, sustained petition, or commitment to an institution one year following release as compared to non-participants.
