The Feasibility of Using Electronic Job Search Facilities in Prison

ANNOTATION: Results from an evaluation of an eight prison pilot project regarding the use of electronic job search facilities, providing information on available jobs, training, and childcare, are presented. Sections comprising this report are: executive summary; introduction; research aims and methods; the pilot prisons; qualitative findings; quantitative findings; factors influencing use and effectiveness; and conclusion and recommendations. "Despite considerable technical difficulties during the pilot period, the research has shown that electronic job search facilities can be effectively operated across a range of prison categories for women, men and young offenders (aged from 18 to 20)" (p. iv).
