Publication year:
2005
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Self-injurious behavior (SIB) is investigated. Sections comprising this article are: introduction; defining SIB; managing SIB; and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) -- a treatment related to psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy and developed by Marsha Linehan. It is important to realize that SIB may be a coping behavior and not an attempt at suicide.
