ANNOTATION: "The following analysis . . . provides a comprehensive examination of mental health and juvenile justice in Texas, exploring both the prevalence of mental health problems among this special population as well as describing a program that has begun to fill a service gap for juveniles with mental health needs in a probation system" (p. 1). Following an executive summary are three parts: findings from the Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument, Second Version (MAYSI-2); findings from the Present State voice format of the Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children (Voice DISC-IV); and findings from the Special Needs Diversionary Program (SNDP).
