ANNOTATION: An innovative program for juvenile probationers based in Jackson County (IL) schools is examined. This summary is comprised of the following sections: program description and goals; school-based probation officers (SBOs); SBO job limitations; program practices; probation data; lessons learned; and conclusion. This program "illustrated that school-based probation officers can provide more intensive supervision of juvenile clients, help improve school performance of probationers, and foster collaboration between county and the schools" (p. 4).
