Jail Personnel Costs: Managing Staffing Levels and Absences
Publication year:
2006
| Cataloged on:
Oct. 31, 2006
ANNOTATION: Findings and recommendations regarding increased levels of overtime and their impact on personnel costs are provided. Sections following an executive summary are: background; results according to jails being understaffed in prior years and understaffing in combination with increased absences led to higher personnel costs; recommendations; and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office responses to the audit. While higher levels of overtime negatively impacted absence management efforts, absences still need to be managed better.
