Re-Offending of Juveniles: Results from the 2004 Cohort

ANNOTATION: One-year re-offending rates of youth receiving pre-court disposals, non-custodial disposals, and released from custody are examined. Sections of this report include: introduction; summary; measuring re-offending; results according to overall rate, age, offense sanctioned, disposal, ratios of re-offending for disposals, rates by offending history, ethnicity, and 1997 performance; and conclusion. The rate of reoffending for the 2004 cohort was 41.3 % compared to the 2000 baseline rate of 43.3%.
