ANNOTATION: Results from an evaluation of the Board of Prison Terms' progress in fulfilling the recommendations made by the Inspector General in 2002-2003 are presented. This report contains the following sections: executive summary; introduction; findings regarding indeterminate sentencing hearings and appeals, parole revocation, supervision of Deputy Commissioners, hearings for mentally disordered offenders, and the review of the Board of Prison Terms' decisions; and response from the Board of Prison Terms. While the Board "has made progress in correcting deficiencies . . . a number of problems remain and some deficiencies threaten to become worse" (p. ES-1).
