ANNOTATION: A manual explaining the Connecticut Department of Correction's inmate classification system and its use is provided. This manual is comprised of the following sections: purpose of the manual; classification system goals and objectives; initial classification procedures -- introduction, inmate risk level assessment, management subcodes, and inmate needs assessment; reclassification procedures -- introduction, regular reclassification reviews, new information, and other classification reviews; and other classification actions -- outside work assignments, facility based work release, and educational release, and furlough computation formula.
